Pregnancy is such a blessing, everything in me wanted a second baby. So, naturally, when I found we were pregnant again, I was excited! I thought it will be a walk in the park just like Alyssa’s pregnancy no morning sickness, not much tiredness, just a growing bump. Yeah right! Who was I kidding? Baby girl #2 definitely didn’t want to be compared to her big sister and wanted to make sure I was aware she had her own little personality.
The first trimester was a rough one.. to say the least.
- 6 weeks- I began experimenting ALL DAY sickness and it just got worse through out the evening. I never really threw up i was just extremely nauseous all day long. My tiredness was at all time high, and I’m not sure if it was all because of my pregnancy or because on top growing an entire human, I also had to chase after one all day, lol.So mama napped when Aly napped as a quick energizer!
- Tip #1– chewing on lemon slices helped A TON with my morning/all day sickness. If you feel like you are about to die, like i did lol. Than cut up a few slices and peel them and chew them. I love lemon so this was an easy task.
- Tip #2 – Lemonade, was a holy grail. I don’t often drink anything other than water, and soda (terrible, I know) but I craved lemonade and it helped a ton.
- Tip #3: DO NOT GO HOURS ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. I wish someone would of told me this, so I’m telling you! If I went anywhere between 1.5-2 hours without eating something, I can guarantee you i was running to the bathroom. So pack your favorite snacks in your purse or diaper bag, and keep them near your bed. My go to snack were cucumber slices! I can still eat them all day long for every meal!
- Tip #4 – Buy a sea band – from your nearest drugstore. I bought mine at target and it relieved SO much of my nausea. It didn’t take it away completely but it definitely relieved much of the nausea.
- Last but not least, Tip #5 – Suggestions, that I was given but didn’t do
- they say Ginger ale helps (I’m not a fan so I didn’t try it), & saltine crackers, I love these – but they didn’t help me at all.
- 10 weeks – I threw up for the very first time, and it was a done deal after that, baby girl was not afraid of letting me know she hated EVERYTHING I would eat.
- 11 Weeks – We were finally able to see our little of bundle of joy growing. My insurance was being a pain in the butt, it took me a while to get into a new OB, because the one I had started with stopped taking my insurance. But we were able to see baby #2 at 11 weeks where she had a heartbeat of 145! (they couldn’t find it at first so they rushed us into our ultrasound to make sure they could see it on the ultrasound, and they sure could, what a relief!) – she is an active baby and was moving way to much to be found on the doppler.
- 14 weeks – we paid for a private ultrasound and found out we were having another baby girl! I was beyond excited to be a girl mom.
- 16-17 weeks FINALLY in the second trimester! so beyond excited! My tiredness has slowed down a bit, we found there could be a chance that I could have placenta previa (stay tuned for the next update, 18-20 week update).
Although, this pregnancy has been a rough one, I have enjoyed every minute of growing another little angel. I am amazed almost every day at what a woman’s body can do. We are definitely super hero’s!
- Pregnant Mama: You are strong, these hard days will pass and soon you will have your bundle of joy in your arms. I am sure you are loving all the flutters and kicks that you are experiencing everyday, that there way of letting you know they love, a kick to the rub, isn’t that lovely? lol. Kidding, kidding! they can hurt sometimes but they are amazing!
- Mama: You are Strong! You may not be a perfect mom, but you are definitely the perfect mom for your babies!
